Boot Camp #1
The Pastors Boot Camp #1 is an immersive introduction to the core principles and practices of Heart-Focused Discipleship. Using the groundbreaking book, A Deeper Walk, as our primary text, this course equips pastors and ministry leaders with essential—but often overlooked—tools for spiritual growth, healing, and maturity.
In this Boot Camp, you will explore:
- The Brain Science behind Spiritual Growth: Understand how relational circuits, joy, and attachment impact discipleship and transformation.
- Listening Prayer: Learn to guide others into deeper connection with Jesus through Spirit-led, interactive prayer.
- A Warfare Worldview: Gain clarity on the principles of permission and authority in the battle for the heart.
- R.E.A.L. Prayer & Healing: Discover the WLVS model (Wounds, Lies, Vows, and Strongholds) and how to partner with Jesus in bringing healing and freedom.
- Spiritual Warfare Tools: Learn the common points of access the enemy uses and how to walk in spiritual authority and freedom.
Through a blend of biblical teaching, practical exercises, and guided group interaction, participants will be equipped to recognize the dynamics of the heart, renew the mind, and walk in deeper intimacy with God—both personally and in their ministry to others.

These 6-week courses are designed to fast-track pastors and Christian leaders in their understanding of heart-focused discipleship. You should have moderate to extensive ministry experience, and a heart to see God’s people experience freedom, maturity, and Kingdom impact.
Boot Camp #1 is foundational and is a prerequisite to attending Boot Camps #2 & #3.

Are you ready to step into the full authority and power God has given you in Christ? Building upon the foundations presented in Boot Camp #1 & #2, this intensive 6-week boot camp will expose you to practical, biblical understanding and tools for effectively engaging in spiritual warfare – no drama deliverance. This course utilizes What Every Believer Should Know About Spiritual Warfare, by Marcus Warner, and Christians, Demonization, and Deliverance, by Karl Payne.
Join us to learn how to identify and dismantle strongholds, pray with power, and lead your congregation into greater freedom!
In this Boot Camp, you will learn to:
- Identify Common Strongholds: Learn to recognize the specific tactics of the enemy and how they manifest in individuals and communities.
- Develop a Strategic Plan: Craft personalized strategies for overcoming spiritual strongholds.
- Use Listening Prayer Joy Memory Foundation: Learn how Listening Prayer adds critical components to the Freedom Prayer process for deliverance.

Meet Your Instructors
Pastor David Yarborough
Lead Pastor, Church on the Hill, Dalton, GA
David Yarborough is an experienced pastor with over 25 years in ministry. He currently serves as the Lead Pastor at Church on the Hill in Dalton, GA. Prior to this, David was the Senior Pastor at St. Simons Community Church on St. Simons Island, GA, where he led the congregation from 1999 to 2021. He holds a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary (1998) and a degree in Journalism: Public Relations from the University of Georgia. David has been happily married for 30+ years to his wife, Amber, and together they have three grown children, a daughter in-love. Their favorite life accomplishment was becoming grandparents in 2024.
David writes, “I truly love and respect this ministry and have begun to incorporate many aspects of this model into the church I am currently serving… including doing prayer ministry each week in some form with the people in our church and community.”
Pastor Greg Neumayer
Regional Pastor, The Evana Network
Greg Neumayer (MATS, M.Min) is a gifted communicator who has been leading and teaching Heart-Focused Discipleship principles since 2015. As a local church pastor he has used Deeper Walk materials for small groups, bible studies, relational discipleship, and pastoral care as well as personal and organization retreats around the country. In 2021-22 Greg played a key role in launching our School of Ministry and then led Cohorts 2 and 4 as Senior Instructor.
As a part of the Deeper Walk Speaking Team he’s been honored to present for groups like local churches from The Brethren in Christ, Missionary Church, Lutheran-Missouri Synod, and Evangelical Free denominations along with regional and/or national leadership teams from the Evana Network, The Salvation Army, and others. Greg’s passion is helping people discover their unique calling and fuel it with joy and belonging in the Lord’s epic story.
Pastor Dan Allison
Founding Pastor, Crossroads Church, Peosta, IA
Dan and Sarah Allison live in Eastern Iowa. They are the proud parents of 4 amazing sons, 3 incredible daughters-in-law, and 5 fantastic grandchildren! Dan is the Founding Pastor of Crossroads Church, Peosta. Along with his wife Sarah, he currently teaches Faith Formation classes at Crossroads Church. They also lead women’s and men’s retreat weekends each fall, utilizing Deeper Walk’s content church-wide.
Dan’s role in the kingdom is “Catalyst” and the Lord has led Dan to catalyze engines that carry the gospel and healing of Jesus to others. This includes helping plant several churches in Eastern Iowa and starting multiple ministries both inside and outside the church. Dan currently serves as President of The Oak Grove Inc, a non-profit dedicated to helping people recover from the effects of childhood trauma. He also manages to find time in the woods, at his farm, and on the water, harvesting some of our lands’ most delicious fish and game.

Who are these courses for?
Deeper Walk Boot Camps are designed to fast-track Pastors and Ministry Leaders in their understanding of Heart-focused Discipleship. If you are on church staff, or actively engaged in other Christian ministry, this training is for you.
The course will provide high level exposure to multiple facets of Heart-focused Discipleship. You will learn new skills that can be used in your life and the lives of those you minister to. Review the course description for each Boot Camp (#1-3) to see what is covered specifically in each course.
What is the format?
Each Boot Camp meets for 2 hours each week for 6 weeks on Zoom. There will be a mix of teaching, group discussion, and skills practice.
Why do I have to apply? Can't I just register?
Because we want to maintain a focused environment for pastors and Christian ministry leaders, we have an application process to ensure that the course is appropriate and beneficial for every applicant.
Once you are accepted for and complete Boot Camp #1, you will NOT need to reapply for Course #2 or #3. You can simply register once enrollment opens for those courses.
If I miss a week, will sessions be recorded?
Yes! We will record each session so you can watch any sessions you miss.
What are the prerequisites?
You should be in Christian ministry with moderate to extensive ministry experience, and have a heart to see God’s people experience freedom, maturity, and Kingdom impact.
Boot Camp #1 is foundational and is a prerequisite to attending Boot Camps #2 & #3.
Are there required textbooks?
Yes, you will need to have a copy of the following books:
