COMPLEX TRAUMA & DISSOCIATION

Whether you have been a Prayer Minister for decades or are newly certified with a few hours under your belt, it doesn’t take much to find out that helping others find growth and healing in Christ can be challenging. During this 16 week course, you will learn more about God’s design to equip and sustain each of us as we minister to his people. Not only is this important for you as you grow in your capacity for care, it is important for those you serve that you know how to identify complex trauma and the nuances in ministering to those affected by it.

COURSE I (8 weeks)
Working with complex trauma survivors can be one of the most rewarding and inspiring things we do in ministry and in counseling.
In this Advanced Course, we will cover the basics of complex trauma. The purpose is to prepare and equip you to help people find greater healing from their past. In Course I we will cover:

  • Basics of complex trauma.
  • How to recognize trauma symptoms in others
  • How to navigate the healing journey with the people you serve.

Derealization, depersonalization, shock, and PTSD are all symptoms that will be covered in depth. Knowing and understanding how and why these symptoms appear will help you mediate their impact.

God’s design is perfect, and so is his plan for healing. With complex trauma survivors, the techniques that work well with most individuals often produce very different results. You will learn why this happens as we cover a comprehensive  approach for help. This approach will encompass the full person with an emphasis on equipping the people you serve with skills to grow and heal. You will be given the opportunity to staff cases for clients currently in your care, ask questions regarding situations you have worked with in the past, and apply your new knowledge to case studies presented in class.

Additionally, we will be talking about how to avoid burnout and overwhelm when working with complex trauma survivors. It can be a challenging to love like Jesus without taking on the full responsibility of God to bring breakthrough to an individual. We will discuss this fine line and how to easily identity your responsibility versus God’s responsibility in the healing process. You will also have a brief introduction to Dissociative Identity Disorder and Trauma Coping Systems in preparation for Complex Trauma Course II. (the second 8 weeks)

COURSE II (8 weeks)
In Course II you will be learning about dissociation, Trauma Coping Systems, and Dissociative Identity Disorder. It has been estimated that 75% of those who are stuck in their healing journey are dealing with unrecognized dissociation. What does “stuck” look like? It looks like those people who have had multiple counselors, been to every prayer ministry in town, and feel like their problems are too big and cannot be healed. Most often, this is due to lack of training on the part of the counselor or prayer minister.

As you learn to identity signs of dissociation and how to respond to them, you will have the opportunity to help fill a much needed gap in the healing community! People who thought they could not ever get better will begin to find hope and breakthrough! During this course, you will learn how to identify and work with  dissociation using biblical principles and research-based solutions. You will also learn four steps to healing from dissociation, and have opportunities to practice these steps on cases presented in class.
Be the change your community needs! Learn God’s healing design for Complex Trauma Survivors with Dissociation in Course II.

The focus of this 16 week course will be aimed at supporting and educating counselors, pastors, life coaches, and prayer ministers. In addition, any Community Caregivers are welcome to attend. We define Community Caregivers as: counselors, pastors, prayer ministers, social workers, school teachers, medical personnel, and first responders.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE TOOLS & TRAINING

Did you wake up in a war zone today? If you dared to turn on the news for five minutes, you may be thinking, “Am I awake? Is this real?” Today, many of us are waking up to the reality that in addition to the battles playing out before our own eyes, there are battles being fought at a much higher level, in an unseen realm, too. We may not see it, but we can feel it. The days feel hard and we often find ourselves without answers.

In the Deeper Walk Prayer Ministry Certification program, we teach the basics of spiritual warfare using the Steps to Freedom in Christ. This course builds on that foundation, utilizing joy-based interaction with Jesus as well as directly confronting and breaking demonic strongholds in a person’s life.

Join us for a 16-week Advanced Course to learn skills to implement yourself and to assist other Christians in silencing the voice and work of the enemy in their lives. Here’s the goal: Learn how to facilitate Spiritual Warfare Prayer that removes significant spiritual barriers so Christians can heal and grow in maturity with Jesus!

This workshop will help remove the stigma, misunderstanding, and weight behind the enemy’s tactics to keep us stuck. Jesus has freedom for you and those in your sphere of influence! Come learn these simple and vital skills to take into everyday life.

NOTE: This course will focus on equipping pastors, ministry leaders, and counselors with experience in the area of Spiritual Warfare, as well as our Certified Deeper Walk Prayer Ministers.

This is an interactive, intense, 16 week program designed for pastors, ministry leaders, prayer ministers and Christian counselors who are called by God to help those who are suffering find freedom from demonic strongholds. This training is designed for mature Christians who have a strong walk with God and who feel called to this kind of ministry. This is war. Because of the serious nature of this program, we want to make sure you are fully prepared.
