Meet Your Instructors

Pastor David Yarborough

Lead Pastor, Church on the Hill, Dalton, GA

David Yarborough is an experienced pastor with over 25 years in ministry. He currently serves as the Lead Pastor at Church on the Hill in Dalton, GA. Prior to this, David was the Senior Pastor at St. Simons Community Church on St. Simons Island, GA, where he led the congregation from 1999 to 2021. He holds a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary (1998) and a degree in Journalism: Public Relations from the University of Georgia. David has been happily married for 30+ years to his wife, Amber, and together they have three grown children, a daughter in-love. Their favorite life accomplishment was becoming grandparents in 2024. David writes, “I truly love and respect this ministry and have begun to incorporate many aspects of this model into the church I am currently serving… including doing prayer ministry each week in some form with the people in our church and community.”

Pastor Dan Allison

Founding Pastor, Crossroads Church, Peosta, IA

Dan Allison lives in Eastern Iowa with his wife, Sarah. They are the proud parents of 4 amazing sons, 3 incredible daughters-in-law, and 6 fantastic grandchildren! Dan is the Founding Pastor of Crossroads Church, Peosta. Along with his wife Sarah, he currently teaches Faith Formation classes at Crossroads Church. They also lead women’s and men’s retreat weekends each fall, utilizing Deeper Walk’s content church-wide.

Dan’s role in the kingdom is “Catalyst” and the Lord has led Dan to catalyze engines that carry the gospel and healing of Jesus to others. This includes helping plant several churches in Eastern Iowa and starting multiple ministries both inside and outside the church. Dan currently serves as President of The Oak Grove Inc, a non-profit dedicated to helping people recover from the effects of childhood trauma. In addition to his ministry work, Dan has been working in the Retirement Industry for over 34 years. He also manages to find time in the woods, at his farm, and on the water, harvesting some of our lands’ most delicious fish and game.

Pastor Greg Neumayer

Regional Pastor, The Evana Network

Greg Neumayer (MATS, M.Min) is a gifted communicator who has been leading and teaching Heart-Focused Discipleship principles since 2015. As a local church pastor he has used Deeper Walk materials for small groups, bible studies, relational discipleship, and pastoral care as well as personal and organization retreats around the country. In 2021-22 Greg played a key role in launching our School of Ministry and then led Cohorts 2 and 4 as Senior Instructor.

As a part of the Deeper Walk Speaking Team he’s been honored to present for groups like local churches from The Brethren in Christ, Missionary Church, Lutheran-Missouri Synod, and Evangelical Free denominations along with regional and/or national leadership teams from the Evana Network, The Salvation Army, and others. Greg’s passion is helping people discover their unique calling and fuel it with joy and belonging in the Lord’s epic story.

Who are these courses for?

Deeper Walk Boot Camps are designed to fast-track Pastors and Ministry Leaders in their understanding of Heart-focused Discipleship. If you are on church staff, or actively engaged in other Christian ministry, this training is for you.

The course will provide high level exposure to multiple facets of Heart-focused Discipleship. You will learn new skills that can be used in your life and the lives of those you minister to.

What is the format?

Each Boot Camp meets for 2 hours each week for 6 weeks on Zoom. There will be a mix of teaching, group discussion, and skills practice.

Why do I have to apply? Can't I just register?

Because we want to maintain a focused environment for pastors and Christian ministry leaders, we have an application process to ensure that the course is appropriate and beneficial for every applicant.

If I miss a week, will sessions be recorded?

Yes! We will record each session so you can watch any sessions you miss.

What are the prerequisites?

You should be in Christian ministry with moderate to extensive ministry experience, and have a heart to see God’s people experience freedom, maturity, and Kingdom impact.

Are there required textbooks?

Yes, you will need to have a copy of the following books:
