The Antidote for Narcissism is a Relational Revolution

Narcissism is an epidemic problem in our culture and our churches. For years, it has been taught that there is no cure for narcissists and that they need to simply be cut out of the community. In his groundbreaking new book, The Pandora Problem, Dr. E. James Wilder presents a new paradigm for understanding narcissism and presents perhaps the only working model in existence for dealing with the problem in a redemptive manner.

Session 1 – Narcissism Basics

In order to understand narcissism, we need to define it properly, recognize its characteristics, and understand the cultures that promote it. During this opening session, we will discuss some of the brain science behind narcissism and the core relational model that allows it to flourish.

Session 2 – Narcissism and the Bible

While the word narcissism doesn’t appear in most English translations the Bible has a lot to say about people living in “enemy” mode. This session will look at biblical concepts like “stiff-necked,” iniquity, the world, the flesh, and the devil and how they help us understand the problem of narcissism.

Session 3 – The Redemptive Path

Our final session will provide an overview of the six core elements of a redemptive journey for both the narcissist and the community.  We will also explain how you can use the Pandora Problem and its companion workbook to start a relational revolution in your community.

Wrap-Up – Getting Started

Both presenters share answers to the question, “Based on what I now know, what do you suggest I do?”
