Dr. Alaine Pakkala has spent over thirty years ministering to hurting people. Her understanding of those who are the most shattered – those with dissociative issues – has allowed her to prepare resources to train others. Her passion and sense of humor have mixed together to create insights into how to best come alongside these wounded ones.

Jim Wilder has extensive clinical counseling experience and is the chief neurotheologian of Life Model Works, a nonprofit working at the intersection of brain science and theology. He is also the lead developer of the Life Model, which is building contagiously healthy Christian communities through equipping existing networks with the skills to thrive.

Dr. Jim Wilder (PhD, Clinical Psychology, and MA, Theology, Fuller Theological Seminary) has been training leaders and counselors for over four decades on five continents. He is the author of over twenty books with a strong focus on maturity and relational skills. His coauthored book, Living from the Heart Jesus Gave You has sold over 100,000 copies in eleven languages. Wilder has published numerous articles and developed video and relational leadership training called THRIVE.

Dr. Rumberger has been a licensed psychologist since 1982. He lives and practices in Colorado and also retains his license in Iowa, where he helped establish ICBC (the precursor of Deeper Walk) in 1988, serving on its staff for many years. Our founder, Mark Bubeck, dubbed him the “Rare Bird”, due to his holding a doctorate in Psychology while having a biblical worldview that embraces the reality of spiritual warfare. The oldest (in any sense of the word!) Deeper Walk Board member, Dan established a robust legacy of ICBC/Deeper Walk biennial conferences that, for the first time, brought together many of the likeminded ministry partners who continue to serve the Body of Christ alongside Deeper Walk International. He and Susanna have been married for 50 years.
