ABOUT THE AUTHOR
MARCUS WARNER (MDIV, THM, AND DMIN TRINITY EVANGELICAL DIVINITY SCHOOL) IS THE PRESIDENT OF DEEPER WALK INTERNATIONAL.
He is a former pastor and college professor who has written several books on topics ranging from how to study the Bible to spiritual warfare, emotional healing, and leadership.
Marcus has done training events for organizations such as Navigators, Willow Creek Prison Ministry, and Moody Church. He has traveled the world with Deeper Walk, equipping people on the front lines of ministry with practical tools for dealing with root issues that keep people and ministries stuck and unable to go deeper into what God has for them.

This is the book that everyone should have a copy of next to their Bible.
My brother molested me and my parents were too busy fighting to really minister to us so they left that up to the church and my Christian school. This allowed the enemy to come and sow seeds of bitterness from all the pain that I had from that “Christian” dysfunctional family. I was diagnosed with ptsd and depressive disorder. I went to a counselor and she told me that it was warfare and I did not believe her. I went to a second counselor and they also said it was warfare. I was still in unbelief until we experienced demonic activity in our new house. During this time, I was more depressed and very sick. Everyone in the house except me saw things. I went ahead and went thru this book while fasting. We anointed our house and the activity level settled down. Thru the healing of the wounds with the listening prayers in this book I was able to pray the forgiveness prayers. I no longer have the shame that I had thanks to the listening prayer and I can walk with my head held high. I am no longer ashamed to be around people and look them in the eye. Once you are delivered, you will need to continue to make your joy bank full so please don’t skip the end of the book as warfare never ends. Thanks so much Dr. Warner. I hope to see you at some point so that I can tell you in person thanks for following the Lord.

So Practical!
Thanks Dr. Warner and Deeper Walk! My family and church cell group are focused on Foster Care and adoption. That means encountering people who’s lives are deeply affected by trauma. Reading this book with our cell group answered so many questions and gave us so many insights into humanity and God’s design. A Book for Everyone’s Library
I have been through this book at least 4 times with 1-6 people at a time and I recommend it to anyone I meet who feels stuck in their walk with God. It is an excellent eye opener to what’s going on in the unseen world, a topic that most Christians aren’t taught about in a typical Bible study or from the pulpit. Marcus Warner’s writing style is concise and easy to understand. Jesus Christ wants us to walk in freedom. This book will help you move in that direction.

Transforming!At first, I was dreading reading this book, until I got it into my hands and read the 1st chapter & its prayer and Immanuel totally flipped my dread into excitement!! And oh how blessed I’ve been since I started this book! Each week, as I do this with a friend, has given me new insight into who I am, why I am the way I am and is bringing about a revealing of the “little foxes” of trauma events I was unaware of in previous healing sessions! I became so excited about what Immanuel is doing in me that I have begun sharing this book with other women I am close to and am now leading 3 small groups of women through this book! ME!! Life giving and life changingThe book, UNDERSTANDING THE WOUNDED HEART, by Dr. Marcus Warner has transformed my Christian World view into a spiritual warfare Christian World view. My testimony is that after reading this book, praying listening prayers, binding evil, and fulfilling the 4 steps…I found the abundant life I had sought after and which was always elusive until now. The nightmares, dark thoughts, anxiety, fear, guilt and shame… GONE! I have not slept this well in years, and I cannot stop telling others what happened to me. Thank you, Dr. Warner, for walking through this very vulnerable place with us and for showing us how to deal with the sin crouching at our door that longs to have us. I now understand why the Israelites had to fight to possess Canaan. We are made to be stewards of God’s kingdom; that means we have to learn who we are and the authority we were designed to use in order to fill and form His kingdom.
