Based on the book by Dr. Marcus Warner, this interactive, online class will help you assess your current strengths and weaknesses within your specific calling, and create a plan for growth and development. You’ll also learn how to identify and address the roadblocks others face in their spiritual journey—and help them move forward.
Understanding Breakthrough! is the introductory class experience and prerequisite for all other classes in the Deeper Walk School of Ministry.
However, this course is open to anyone looking to experience personal growth. And it’s ideal for anyone wondering if it’s time to step into active Kingdom ministry and mission.

There are 16 CE credit hours available for this course! For $25 you can register for these HERE. Participants must have succesfully completed the course, filled out the evaluation form provided after the course, and completed all quizzes with passing grade of 75% in order to receive a certificate.

You’ll view 8-sessions of biblically balanced teaching by Dr. Marcus Warner. In these video sessions you’ll gain a clear understanding of the five engines than drive our emotions, and helpful tools and strategies designed to lead to breakthrough.

Course Details
- Meetings will include instructor-led group discussion of Dr. Marcus Warner’s video training, as well as smaller breakout groups where you’ll practice ministry skill-building activities designed by Certified Master Trainer Dawn Whitestone, M.A.
- Through expert instruction, discussion with classmates and instructors, along with hands-on exercises, practical worksheets, and assessments, you'll be given the tools you need to implement what you are learning and track your progress.
- You will create a personalized plan for ongoing growth in life and ministry, with actionable steps for beyond your time in this class.
Meet Your INSTRUCTORS
Dr. Marcus Warner
Marcus is a former pastor and college professor who has written several books on topics ranging from how to study the Bible to spiritual warfare, emotional healing, and leadership. He is also the author of Breakthrough! 5 Essential Strategies for Freedom, Healing, & Wholeness.
Marcus has done training events for organizations such as Navigators, Focus on the Family, the Salvation Army, and Moody Church. He has traveled the world with Deeper Walk, equipping people on the front lines of ministry with practical tools for dealing with root issues that keep people and ministries stuck and unable to go deeper into what God has for them.
Christy Edge
INSTRUCTOR, DEEPER WALK SCHOOL OF MINISTRY
Christy has walked her own healing journey for the last 25 years and seen the Lord bring much freedom. As she’s walked this out it has given her a desire for others in the body of Christ to walk in freedom as well.
Christy ministers to people locally in her community just south of Nashville, TN, and thanks to Zoom, anywhere around the country. For the last 18 years Christy has also worked with a church planting organization to share the Good news of Jesus with those on the other side of the world. As she has interacted with other cultures and seen the Lord work The Lord has opened doors to bring inner healing prayer ministry to many refugees who have come out of traumatic events, and to train many American believers to be trauma informed when serving the hurting people of the world.
Christy loves to bake, read, cuddle dogs, and hang out with like minded friends. Since going through the Deeper Walk School of Ministry Prayer Ministry Certification program, she has now opened her home as a place of respite and inner healing for those looking for breakthrough.

This course is ideal for those who want to understand why some people grow while others stay stuck—and how to help both yourself and others move forward. This interactive online class helps you identify spiritual roadblocks, assess your strengths and weaknesses, and create a plan for growth. If you’re longing to experience a deeper connection with God and help others do the same, this course is for you.
You’ll meet live online for 2 hours each Monday over the 8-week course. In addition to the weekly class, plan for about 2-3 more hours per week to complete assignments. These include:
- Reading 1–2 chapters from the course book.
- Completing assessments and quizzes
- Participating in the student chat forum
In total, expect to spend around 2-3 hours per week outside the weekly meeting engaging with the course content and community.
If you miss a session, you will be given access to that week’s teaching video with Dr. Marcus Warner, and any assignments you may have missed.
